Ben Lampert, Sports Coach at Brentford FC Community Sports Trust and England’s Deaf Football Assistant Coach, is helping to break down barriers and inspire the next generation of players. The 34-year-old who won Gold with Team GB Deaf Football at the Melbourne 2005 Deaflympics, has been working with the Trust for more than a decade and currently oversees the Deaf Coaching programme. The programme encourages children and adults to get involved with sport and tackle the existing obstacles they face.
Ben's story is one that many Brentford fans will already know. The award-winning coach has been using British Sign Language to coach players of all ages. This week, his story was included in the EFL Trust Advent Calendar.
The EFL Trust is the charitable arm of the EFL and oversees the work of club community organisations such as Brentford FC Community Sports Trust. They will be rounding up some of their best stories over Advent. See more here.
