Tom Bates has left the Brentford FC coaching team to take up a new position at a different Sky Bet Championship club. Tom has been at Brentford for just over a year, joining The Bees in the summer of 2015 as First Team Performance Psychologist. He left the Club on Thursday, 29 September, and will take up his new post later this month.

Tom came to Brentford after three years at West Bromwich Albion, where he had been a coach and performance psychologist. He has also worked for the Football Association, Birmingham City, AFC Bournemouth and Cambridge United during his coaching career. Tom leaves with the best wishes of all at Brentford FC.

Rasmus Ankersen, Co-Director of Football, said: “Tom was offered a job at another club and decided to accept that. The new job is an opportunity for him to work closer to home and his family, which has been a priority to Tom for a while. We have been very pleased with Tom’s contribution to Brentford, and he is leaving on good terms. We look forward to seeing Tom later in the season and wish him all the best for his future career.”
