The trans-Tasman rivals will face off in west London for the recently rediscovered New Zealand and Australia Soccer Ashes Trophy.
Taking place during the October FIFA men’s international window, the game will follow Australia’s match against England at Wembley Stadium on Friday 13 October.
“We are looking forward to hosting Australia and New Zealand next month,” said Brentford operations director Alan Walsh. “We believe that Gtech Community Stadium is the perfect venue given our facilities, staff, and location for international fixtures. We will work hard to deliver a great experience for players, broadcasters and fans alike.”
Australia head coach Graham Arnold believes the match will be a great occasion for both teams with the Soccer Ashes Trophy up for grabs.
“We’ve had some fantastic battles over the years and I’m sure this will be no different,” Arnold said.
“It is a rich history that both nations share, and we are looking forward to writing another chapter in what is a storied rivalry that is driven by our competitive desire and connected through a mutual respect.
“Reinstating the Soccer Ashes is a wonderful way to honour the history of our respective national teams and we’re excited to be playing for them in London in October.”
