Yehor Yamoliuk says he wants to continue to make his family proud having joined Brentford recently from his boyhood club SC Dnipro.

The 18-year-old arrived in West London recently after his 2021/22 season in his native country of Ukraine was curtailed following Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

The young winger now has an exciting opportunity in front of him having initially linked up with Brentford B. He is also on tour with the side in Wales as they ready themselves for a new season.

Discussing his move to the Club, Yehor said: "I am more than happy to be here. The players and coaches were welcoming and supportive. I like the football that this team plays, it’s a good style, and a great place to be.

“My family are extremely proud and excited for my future. I want them to be prouder with every day. I think this is a fantastic opportunity for me and I want my family to see me play in the Premier League.”

“I thank everyone for the support for my family in Ukraine, it’s a tough time for all of us, but I’ve received a lot of support whilst being in the UK. Football has always been a number one priority, but the situation in Ukraine means training is hard to do. There were a lot of limitations and it was difficult to train. I would train in the gym or with a coach, to the best of my ability."

Yehor came through the ranks with Dnipro and is also recognised internationally having made his debut for Ukraine's Under-21s at the age of just 16. He made his senior debut for Dnipro on 19 June 2020 as he featured against FC Vorskla Poltava, becoming the second youngest player to feature in the top tier of Ukrainian football at 16 years and 140 days.

Discussing his time in Ukraine with Dnipro and the national team, Yehor explained: “I spent a long time with my previous team (SC Dnipro) and had experience in the First Team. It was a good experience to play for the Ukrainian national youth team. It was a different experience than playing at club level, playing with the best players. I would love to play for the men’s national team in the future. As a player I would say I’m good under pressure, physical and persistent. I’m feeling excited about this opportunity and I will be giving my best."

The style of play is also what attracted Yehor to the Club, and he's looking forward to getting to work under his new coaches. He continued: “I’ve watched Brentford play before, the team is very tactical with different styles of play and they look prepared for every game. I’m excited for this opportunity, I’m very grateful to be here and I’m looking to get stronger alongside the rest of the team."
