Brentford FC Community Sports Trust is launching a local BTEC Level Three National Extended Diploma in Sport in a brand new partnership with The Cardinal Wiseman Catholic School, based in Greenford.

The partnership which will see Cardinal Wiseman’s teaching expertise combined with the Sports Trust's award winning scheme to deliver a full time two year post-16 education programme.

The educational aspect will be brought alive with a training and match programme overseen by the Trust.

Students will take part in 12 hours of education per week at Cardinal Wiseman which will be supplemented by two sessions of football and one futsal session a week, also at the school. This will all take place within the school timetable.

In addition to this there will be a regular match programme with the chance for students to take FA Level One Football and Futsal coaching qualifications.

There will be further opportunities throughout the course to undertake work placements in some of the Trust’s projects.

“We are delighted to be offering a new BTEC Level Three Diploma in partnership with the Brentford FC Community Sports Trust,” said Michael Kiely, Head Teacher at Cardinal Wiseman Catholic School.

“In recent years Brentford FC has been at the forefront London's football clubs in supporting and providing opportunities within their local communities.

“The new diploma will provide young people in the Ealing area with a clear pathway to university and sports related careers.”

The Trust can also offer qualifying students the chance to apply for Foundation Degree in Community Coaching and offer you a solid base on which to build a credible CV to secure a sporting career.

“I am extremely pleased to say that we have an exclusive agreement to work with Cardinal Wiseman on this project for the London Borough of Ealing,” said Community Development Manager, Luis Melville.

“The school has an impressive academic record and we hope that we can bring our sporting expertise to help build the next generation of coaches coming through.”
