Goalkeeper Simon Moore has pledged his long term future to Brentford Football Club by signing a new three-year contract.
The new deal will come in to effect at the end of the current season so Simon is now contracted to Brentford until the summer of 2016.
Mark Warburton, Brentford FC Sporting Director, said: “We are absolutely delighted to see Simon commit his future to Brentford FC.
“Simon has performed exceptionally well this Season and has consistently displayed the undoubted potential that we all know he possesses.
“There has been much reported interest in such a talented young keeper and it speaks volumes for the club, Uwe and his team that we have been able to secure his services on a long term basis.
“We now want to see him continue to benefit from working with Uwe, [Goalkeeper Coach] Simon Royce and the staff and to see him play a key role in helping take the Club forward to achieve its obvious aims.
“Simon has a first class attitude combined with a real desire to learn and such attributes make him a pleasure to have in First Team squad.
“This contract extension also underlines the commitment of the club to securing its best players, whilst ensuring we adhere to the financial structure necessary to maintain the right balance for the team.
“My congratulations again to Simon and I am very much looking forward to observing his progress in the weeks and months ahead.”
Simon joined The Bees in the summer of 2009 after a successful trial.
The 22-year-old was in the youth system at Southampton and played non-league football for Brading Town, on the Isle of Wight, and Farnborough before joining The Bees.
He made his debut as a substitute on the final day of the 2009/10 season and his full bow on the first day of the 2010/11 campaign.
Simon made 12 appearances in all for Brentford during 2010/11, including starting in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy Final at Wembley, and also had a spell on loan at Basingstoke Town.
He also reached double figures for appearances in the 2011/12 season and started the current season between the sticks.
He has been ever present in npower League One for Brentford this term, conceding just 17 goals in 15 games.
Brentford Manager Uwe Rösler spoke to Bees Player about Simon’s contract extension this afternoon.
