After four straight wins to end October, Brentford couldn’t make it five as high-flying Hull City scored twice late on to take the points at Griffin Park. The Bees more than matched The Tigers in the first-half but didn’t get that all-important breakthrough before late goals from Andrew Robertson and Sam Clucas secured the points for Steve Bruce’s side. Four days later and a hard-earned point at Ewood Park against Blackburn Rovers was overshadowed by a serious ankle injury picked up by Marco Djuricin. The Bees' striker was forced off midway through the first-half as Brentford took the lead four minutes later through Lasse Vibe’s fifth of the season. However that advantage was wiped out just before half-time as Tom Lawrence’s low cross-shot found the bottom corner to ensure a point apiece for the two sides.

Brentford’s run of form in October was recognised by the Football League as Lee Carsley and Alan Judge picked up the Sky Bet Championship Manager and Player of the Month Awards. Lee picked up the award after guiding The Bees to four wins from five matches while Alan’s three goals and four assists during the month meant he got the nod for the players’ award.

Kevin O’Connor’s time in charge of the Under-21s had seen some great comebacks but there hadn’t been any quite like the one against Watford at Jersey Road to kick-off the month. The Bees scored four times in the final 15 minutes, including three in injury-time, to come back from 3-0 down to record an improbable 4-3 win. Progress for O’Connor’s side was also made in the Premier League Cup as goals from Jermaine Udumaga and Herson Rodrigues Alves dumped Category One Reading out in the First Round at Adams Park. A late Decarrey Sherriff penalty denied Jon De Souza’s Youth Team a win over Colchester United at Florence Park. Luke Dunn’s goal on the stroke of half-time had put The Bees in front only for Tony Guppy to foul Sherriff inside the area late on, the striker picking himself up to net. The Development Squad tasted defeat for the first-time under O’Connor later on in the month as Sheffield United left Jersey Road with the points after a 3-2 win. Courtney Senior and Jan Holldack found the net for The Bees but Jake Wright’s double and one from CJ Hamilton sent the points back to Yorkshire. Six unanswered first-half goals meant it was well and truly an afternoon to forget for the Under-18s as they lost 7-1 to league leaders Charlton Athletic but there was better news for the Under-21s as they got back to winning ways thanks to goals from Senior, Holldack, and Reece Cole in  3-1 win away at Ipswich Town.

There was better news on the injury front as the international break gave Josh McEachran the chance to make his return in a behind closed doors friendly against AFC Bournemouth on the South Coast. The midfielder played 45 minutes as The Cherries ran out 2-1 winners, Konstantin Kerschbaumer curling home a fine goal for The Bees in the second-half. The international break also saw Alan Judge make the bench for the Republic of Ireland as they booked their place at the 2016 European Championships after a 3-1 Play-Off win over Bosnia and Herzegovina. Daniel O’Shaughnessy played 90 minutes for Finland’s Under-21s as they lost ground in the race for Euro 2017 qualification after a 2-0 defeat to Austria while John Swift missed England’s 0-0 draw with Bosnia-Herzegovina in the same competition before starting their 3-1 win over Switzerland.

One of only two surviving players from the last Brentford team to play in the top flight, Arthur Shaw, died on 2 November, aged 91. The wing-half made four appearances for The Bees before winning the title with Arsenal in 1952/53. After two years with The Bees, during which time he had managed only one appearance, Raphael Calvet departed Griffin Park and was free to find another club.
