Here is the second part of a series documenting Brentford's 2013/2014 season - in photos.

After completing their pre-season programme, the First Team played their first competitive match at Port Vale on August 3, which resulted in a 1-1 draw.

Brentford lost only one game in August - at Derby County in the Capital One Cup Second Road - remaining unbeaten in Sky Bet League One with wins over Walsall and Sheffield United, and draws with Gillingham and Carlisle United.

The Development Squad started their Under-21 league programme with a 2-0 win over Bristol City on August 20, both goals scored by Paul Hayes.
