A player from Brentford’s Academy has been called up for a Scotland training camp.

Ross McMahon will link up with Scotland’s Under-16 squad for a one-day camp later this month.

Defender Ross will be part of a 27-man training group on Tuesday October 14 in Stirling.

No matches are scheduled for the short camp but Scotland Under-16s will play in the Victory Shield – a tournament for Under-16 sides from England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland – which starts later this month.

Ross is the second Academy player to receive an international call up in the past few days – Harry Francis will join up with the England Under-15 squad for a training camp this weekend.

Ose Aibangee, Brentford FC Academy Director, said: “I would like to congratulate Ross on his call-up.

“He was called in to a training camp earlier this year and to have received a second invitation says a lot about the impression he made.

“It is also more good news for the Academy and the Club as a whole.

“Ross will go there and, I’m sure, represent Brentford well, as he has always done to date.

“This is another positive reflection on the work done within the Academy and I hope there is more to come.”
