Eight staff from A2Dominion will be running a total of 26.2 miles to raise money for Hounslow FoodBox. And one of the team will be involving Brentford FC. A2Dominion have been building and maintaining homes in London and Southern England for decades and are doing their bit in our community as part of the 2.6 Challenge.

The 2.6 Challenge has been designed to help the countries charities. The Covid-19 pandemic has caused the cancellation of thousands of events and the loss of billions in income for charities through fundraising events. The Virgin Money London Marathon alone, which should have taken place on Sunday, 26 April, is the world’s biggest one-day fundraising event, which raised more than £66.4 million for thousands of charities in 2019. The 2.6 Challenge is planned to fill some of that gap.

The team from A2Dominion will be running the marathon distance - 26.2 miles - between them. One of the eight will be running 26 times around Griffin Park as their part of the challenge and the money raised will go to Hounslow FoodBox. The FoodBox provides emergency food to those who are in need and live in Hounslow borough and can also help to make referrals to other organisations who can give further support and advice.

The FoodBox, located at the Brickfield Community Centre in Brentford, is continually looking for more volunteers and of course donations particularly of non-perishables and money to help extend the service.  For further information, please email [email protected].  You can also read more at hounslowfoodbox.org.uk/ and see latest news @HounslowFoodbox. And A2Dominion are not the only ones in action this weekend. The 2.6 Challenge is set to start on Sunday and former player and manager Nicky Forster is putting his best foot forward. See more below.
