Brentford B were beaten for the first time since August by Serie B side Como 1907 3-1 in Italy on Tuesday.
Two goals from Alessandro Gabrielloni and one from Federico Chinetti were enough to give the Italian side the win in a game where Aaron Pressley netted his first goal for the Bees since returning from a long-term injury.
B Team Head Coach Neil MacFarlane made three changes to the side that started the Premier League Cup win over Peterborough on Friday last week as Roco Rees came into the side alongside 17-year-old duo Isaac Holland and Byron Wilson.
It was a game where the home side had an early chance after just a couple of minutes when Marco Tremolada shot just wide of the left-hand post, but the effort lacked conviction. After the opening 15 minutes or so the Bees managed to find a bit of rhythm in their play as they had spells in possession as they looked to switch the ball wide out to full backs Val Adedokun and Charlie Farr when possible.
They were then dealt a blow on 17 minutes when Como were awarded a penalty after Edon Pruti was adjudged to have fouled Gabrielloni as the forward tried to dart away but he was pulled back and the referee then pointed to the spot. The Como number nine then stepped up to convert past Roco Rees in the Brentford goal.

Rees was called into action shortly before the half hour mark as he pushed a Gabrielloni effort wide which preceded a brilliant chance for Brentford to draw level. Good pressing from Isaac Holland helped the Bees to win the ball back high with the help of Farr. The ball was then pulled back into the area from the inside right channel where Alex Gilbert left it for the onrushing Ryan Trevitt who swept his shot just wide of the bottom left-hand corner.
The Bees continued to grow into it as Gilbert saw his free-kick go over the bar before the Italian side furthered their advantage through Gabrielloni as he headed home following a cross from the left to make it 2-0.
After the break it took Como around 10 minutes to make it 3-0 and that came about through substitute Chinetti. The Como youngster cut in from the right onto his left foot before curling high past Ben Winterbottom, who had recently come on at half-time.
Neil MacFarlane and his staff then made a series of changes with Pressley and co introduced as they searched for a way back into the game. It was Max Wilcox who had a good chance on 65 minutes when he turned well on the edge of the box before shooting low, but his effort was well saved by the keeper. Kyreece Lisbie then followed up with an effort but forced another save from the Como shot stopper.
A minute later the Bees had their goal and it came through a Lisbie cross from the left and Pressley was on hand to finish with his left foot into the net to make it 3-1.
More chances did fall for the Bees as Tony Yogane was played in down the right on 75 minutes when he drilled an effort across goal which just edged wide. Max Dickov too had an attempt when the ball was cleared and he controlled before drilling an effort straight at the keeper from the edge.
Another brilliant chance then fell on 85 minutes as Brentford kept pushing. It was Trevitt with the delivery this time and it came with power as it met the head of Pressley but he was unable to keep his header on target as it edged just over.
