The B Team midfielder believes that Kevin O'Connor's side are capable of pulling off a win, even if conditions turn against them as snow is forecast overnight.

Reece, 20, started off with a summary of the recent trip to Ireland with Brentford's second squad. He said: "It was good, obviously, playing against two men's sides. It was a good physical test in both games for all of us really and I think we came through strong.

"I think we all knew Dundalk were going to be the better side but Shamrock came out first half and they gave us a good game. They were good on the ball and it really tested us because we didn't expect it.

"It was good coming back from injury still, I've only played one 90 minutes so to get minutes out there was really good. I thought I played well and need to keep on pushing to get a few more goals and assists to get my name out there again."

Weather conditions and other issues have been factors in delaying the B Team's last couple of games. Reece explained what the staff at Jersey Road have been doing to help the players combat excess down time.

"We've had a few hard sessions, put it that way," he said. "Kevin [O'Connor] and Allan [Steele] have been pushing us as far as we can go. There's been a few tired legs during the week but now we all feel fresh for tomorrow's game."

Reece then summed up his season so far, he said: "It's been a very up and down season for me. Pre-season I started very high, got a few goals for the First Team and put in a few good performances. Then I went on loan to Newport County, got a goal there and then things sort of changed for the worse.

"I picked up the injury and it knocked me out for three or four months, so I'm hoping to try and get my season back on track. Like I said earlier, I'll try and get my name about a bit more, scoring goals and getting assists, and just performing in the B Team."

An interview with Alan Judge, which will appear in this Saturday's edition of BEES, revealed just how crowded the First Team is at the moment. So many of the squad are fit, it's making it hard for players in the B Team to make their mark. Reece told us what he needs to do to keep himself in the mind of Dean Smith and the other coaching staff.

"I've got to keep on doing what I am doing every day. I've got extra sessions to come in and do every day because I want to do the most I can. As soon as I take my foot off that pedal, I might get a chance and then look sloppy in front of the gaffer. That's the last thing that I need to be showing."

Swansea are on track to play Brentford B at 2pm on Tuesday (26 Feb), which Reece is expecting to be another challenge.

"It's going to be a technical game, Swansea are known for their passing and positioning. With us, and the style of play that we have, it's going to be a good game to watch. Hopefully we can come through with the win and prove them wrong.

"The message will be to go and win the game. You can't lose two games in a season to the same team so we need to go and win, while also playing in a style that we have learnt to play."

The game is under threat as heavy snow is expected in the next few days. Reece knows that as a player of a sport that takes place in the winter months, you have to be ready for it.

"You have to approach it the same," he said. "You never know whether the game is going to be on or not. It's the same as last week [against Stevenage], we didn't know if it was on but we still came in and had to prepare the same way. If it goes ahead, you have a game to focus on."
