The 2022/23 Premier League schedule has been released and the start of the season is a month away. Fixtures are in place and Fantasy Premier League prices have been set. Fantasy Premier League managers are among those looking ahead and making plans for the season.

Brentford defender Pontus Jansson picked out as an option for FPL bosses in the first weeks of next season. The Scout - who writes about Fantasy Premier League for the Premier League - is looking at players that may be useful for the first weeks of the upcoming 2022/23 campaign. Pontus was on his list as a man who will be useful for some of the early matches.

"Brentford impressed in defence in in their debut season in the Premier League," writes The Scout in a piece here. "Thomas Frank’s side kept nine clean sheets, ranking joint-tenth. At home, in particular, the Bees improved as the campaign progressed. They recorded a shutout in four of their final five matches.

"Pontus Jansson was involved in seven goals last season, scoring three and assisting a further four. His 22 shots in the box placed joint-tenth among all defenders in Fantasy last season."
