Michael Turner: Brentford, 110 appearances, 3 goals; Norwich City, 76 appearances, 4 goals

A tall, stylish defender, Michael joined The Bees in 2004 and quickly formed a formidable defensive partnership with Sam Sodje. He missed just one league match in two seasons and was a key part of the FA Cup runs and Play-Off campaigns. He picked up the Player of the Year award in his first season and shared the award with Jay Tabb the following season, a year which saw him captain the side at the age of 21, and pick up the Supporters Player of the Year award. Always destined for higher things, Michael had spells in the top flight with Hull City and Sunderland before joining The Canaries in July 2012. He was a mainstay of the Norwich defence for two seasons in the Premier League but couldn’t prevent relegation in 2014. The last two seasons have seen him split his time between Carrow Road and loan spells at Fulham and Sheffield Wednesday, and he has yet to make a league appearance in East Anglia this season.

Graham Benstead: Brentford, 143 appearances, 0 goals; Norwich City, 19 appearances, 0 goals

Goalkeeper Graham made 19 appearances over a three-year spell in the top flight with Norwich City before Brentford parted with £60,000 for his services in July 1990. The then 27-year-old instantly made the number one shirt his own, missing just one league game in his debut season as The Bees made the Play-Offs, keeping 23 clean sheets in all competitions. Graham was again first-choice the following season, making 37 league appearances as The Bees lifted the Division Three crown. Injuries, and a change in the backpass law, in his third season saw him feature in just half the league games. Seven games into the 1993/94 season, Graham was dropped and then released only to find himself back at Griffin Park in 1997 as a player/coach under Eddie May.

Stuart Nelson: Brentford, 139 appearances, 0 goals; Norwich City, 0 appearances, 0 goals

After a nomadic career in the lower leagues, non-leagues, and the United States, Stuart joined The Bees in February 2004 as a replacement for Paul Smith. He played nine games before the end of that season, helping to secure League One survival before flourishing under Martin Allen over the next two campaigns. Stuart missed just three league games as The Bees made the Play-Offs on both occasions. His first season at the club included 21 clean sheets with his second season adding another 15 shutouts. He played every minute of the two FA Cup runs to the Fifth Round and was named club captain in the summer of 2006. A ligament injury meant he missed a large chunk of the next season as The Bees were relegated to League Two. Stuart left in 2007 for Leyton Orient before Norwich signed him a year later. He failed to make an appearance at Carrow Road and now plies his trade for League One side Gillingham, for whom he has made more than 200 appearances.

Simon Ratcliffe: Brentford, 268 appearances, 16 goals; Norwich City, 11 appearances, 0 goals

Simon came through the ranks at Manchester United before moving to Carrow Road in 1987. Ratcliffe joined The Canaries at one of the most successful points in their history. He managed nine league appearances over the next two years, before leaving in 1989 - at the end of what was arguably the most successful season in Norwich's history, when they finished fourth in the league and reached the FA Cup semi-finals. On leaving Norwich, Ratcliffe joined Brentford for a club record £100,000. Adept at both right-back and in the centre of midfield, Simon was a key figure in the 1991/92 promotion winning side, scoring in the 4-0 win over Fulham at Griffin Park. Although he struggled in the second tier the following season, he returned to form over his final couple of seasons with The Bees, scoring in the Play-Off Semi-Final penalty shootout defeat to Huddersfield Town in 1995, his last kick as a Brentford player.
