Patrik Gunnarsson was an unused substitute as Iceland won again on Sunday evening. The goalkeeper has been part of the full Iceland squad for the first time and was named on the bench for a game against El Salvador in the United States of America. Iceland won 1-0 with the only goal scored by Kjartan Finnbogason. Patrik was not called upon to take part but did spend a week away as one of three goalkeepers in a 23-man squad.

Patrik has been first choice for Iceland Under-21 over the past year. He made his debut at that level last season and has now won seven caps at that level. He also represented his country at Under-17 level when he was just 15. Patrik has played 21 games for Iceland at all levels and now has more time will the full squad under his belt.
