In Denmark, and FC Nordsjaelland (FCN) made it two wins from two in the Danish Superliga with a 3-1 victory over Brøndby IF on Sunday 24 July.
Ernest Nuamah gave FCN a third-minute advantage, which they held until just before the hour mark. Mads was then adjudged to have fouled Kevin Tshiembe at a corner, allowing Josep Radosevic to level things up from 12 yards.
FCN responded in fine style with two goals in three minutes late on to secure the win. Andreas Schjelderup found the net following a fine move before Benjamin Nygren scored from a well-worked set piece.
FCN are one of two sides with two wins from two so far in the Danish SuperLiga and have a chance to add a third when they host Lyngby next Monday.
Elsewhere, Paris Maghoma impressed on his first outing for AFC Wimbledon, playing 90 minutes in their goalless friendly draw against Oxford United at Plough Lane.
The young midfielder joined The Dons last week and slotted straight into the centre of midfield for their weekend action. The 21-year-old came close to proving the opener for Ayoub Assal but the attacking midfielder fired over following Paris’s interception and pass.
The afternoon’s best chances both came late on. Former Brentford youngster Nik Tzanev denied Oxford’s Cameron Brannagan from the penalty spot before The Dons’ Isaac Ogundere also found Jack Stevens in no mood to be beaten.
It’s straight into Sky Bet League Two action now for Paris and AFC with the visit of Gillingham coming up next Saturday.
Also preparing for their League Two opener are and Crewe Alexandra. Lachlan joined The Railwaymen on Friday and went straight into the XI for their final pre-season game, at home to Rotherham United on Saturday.
Lachlan was a threat down the wing for Alex, setting up Callum Ainley for an early chance. By that stage, Crewe were already one down to Conor Washington’s fierce strike and it got worse just before the interval as George Kelly nodded home Shane Ferguson’s cross.
Daniel Agyei pulled one back on the stroke of half-time and Lachlan had a great chance to level things up late on but he was wonderfully denied at close range by Viktor Johansson.
Crewe’s opening League Two game next week sees them make the trip north to take on Rochdale.
