Between them and achieving that perfect campaign are matches against Faroe Islands and Scotland later this month. The Danes host Faroe Islands at Parken on Friday 12 November, kick-off 7.45pm, before heading to Hampden Park to take on Scotland three days later.
That match at Hampden could prove decisive in deciding who finishes second behind Denmark, Scotland currently lead Israel by four points in that particular battle.
Christian has appeared in all eight of Denmark's qualifiers so far while Mathias has featured four times. Kasper Hjulmand's side have netted 27 goals without reply, Christian and Mathias both getting their maiden international goals in victories over Moldova this campaign.
Their appearances during this campaign have catapulted our midfield duo towards the top of our all-time caps list. Mathias' next outing will be his 16th for his nation and will take him into third, behind only Henrik Dalsgaard and John Buttigieg, on our all-time list while Christian is just one appearance behind.
At club level so far this year, Christian has played all but 12 minutes in the Premier League so far, scoring the second as we beat Arsenal on opening night. Mathias has made six Premier League appearances, the last three coming from the start, as well as appearing twice in the Carabao Cup.
