In Leuven, Mathias Jensen and Henrik Dalsgaard were both named on the bench as Denmark looked for the victory over Belgium which would see them win League A2 and qualify for the Nations League finals. The two sides traded early goals before Romelu Lukaku’s second-half double gave the hosts breathing space. A Thibault Courtois own-goal four minutes from time threatened to set up a grandstand finish but Kevin De Bruyne responded instantly to send the World’s number one side into the final four alongside Italy, France, and Spain. Mathias came on for the final 20 minutes to earn his fourth senior cap while Henrik is still on 26 appearances after remaining an unused substitute.

It was a similar story in Cardiff as Marcus Forss and Finland were denied back-to-back promotions following a 3-1 defeat to Wales. It was always going to be an uphill battle for The Fins after Jere Uronen’s 12th minute dismissal at the Cardiff City Stadium. So it proved with Harry Wilson and Daniel James netting either side of the interval for Rob Page's side. Teemu Pukki pulled one back on the hour but a late Kieffer Moore header put the game to bed as Wales join Europe’s elite in League A. Marcus played the closing moments on his third senior outing.
