It will be an historic day for Brentford FC on Saturday when we play our first game in front of fans at our new home on Saturday. Our game against Blackburn Rovers on Saturday, 5 December, kick-off 3pm, will be watched live by Bees fans at the stadium, subject to any further changes from the authorities. Fans that are eligble to book a place have been contacted and full information can be seen here and here.
As well as an historic day, it is also a big one on the pitch as Brentford face the top scorers in the Sky Bet Championship in a game between two teams in form. Brentford made it three wins in a row with a victory at Rotherham United last night. The Bees are unbeaten in eight and have conceded just three goals in that time. They climed in to the top four in the division, albeit having played a game more than some teams below them.
One of the teams with a game in hand is Blackburn. They face Millwall this evening, looking to close the gap on the top seven. They are ninth at present and five points behind Reading in seventh. Rovers are also on a five-match unbeaten run, taking 11 points from those games.
Rovers are the top scorers in the Championship, having hit the net 27 times in their 14 games so far. They have the best goal difference in the division and have won three of their seven games away from home so far. They beat Preston North End away from home last Tuesday and followed that up with a victory over Barnsley on Saturday. They are five points behind The Bees at present but will climb above Brentford if they win the next two games.
The match will, unfortunately, be open to 2,000 spectators. It will, however, be available live on iFollow Brentford for everyone else. As per EFL communication on the broadcast arrangements for the new season, all of a team's games not selected for live coverage by Sky Sports will only be available on that platform. See more here.
Season Ticket Holders that agreed to freeze their seats for the current campaign in to 2021/22 that are not coming in for this match have iFollow VIP access. They can watch the game on Saturday when they log in to their iFollow account. See more here.
