Nathan Fox has become the latest member of Kevin O’Connor’s B Team to head out on loan as he joined National League South side Margate FC on a 28-day Youth Loan. The paperwork for the move was completed on Friday with Nathan joining The Gate, managed by former Brentford goalkeeper Nikki Bull, until Thursday 29 December. The defender has previous non-league experience after spells with Concord Rangers and Cray Wanderers before he joined The Bees this January.
Margate are currently a point above the drop zone in the National League South as the season nears the midway point. The Gate are without a win in nine matches in all competitions. Nathan is eligible for this afternoon’s trip to league leaders Maidenhead United with further games against Hungerford Town and Welling United coming up before the end of his spell on the coast.
Head of Football Operations Rob Rowan said: “I had a good honest discussion with Nathan about his future and we both agreed that this loan was a good chance for him to get some game time. Competition for places in the B Team is fierce and Nathan has struggled to break into the side this season. Hopefully, Nathan can get some consistency in his game time at Margate and come back to compete for his place at Brentford B.”
