Brentford FC CST are closing in on their £10,000 fundraising target with the Prudential Ride London-Surrey Classic less than two weeks away.

More than £6,000 has already been raised by the 18 strong team of Trust and Club staff preparing to take on the 100 mile ride around London and the Surrey countryside on Sunday 1 August.

Former First Team Captain Kevin O'Connor is among the riders taking part as the trust raises money to employ a new trainee at the Trust.

The training and work experience opportunity that will be provided to a young person in the first year, as a result of the funds raised, will help to make the role sustainable going forward.

The Brentford Team comprises three teams of peloton relay riders, who will complete the 100 mile course in four relay sections, and 6 individual riders and is a complete mix of cycling experience and fitness levels.

Each rider will be presented with a special edition cycling shirt prior to the event, but before that they need to earn the shirt!

The Trust has been arranging ride-outs to meet the other riders and prepare for the challenge in recent weeks and they will continue up to the big day.
