Joshua Bohui's stunning hat-trick helped Brentford secure a place in the Globe Competition at the 2014 Milk Cup with a 4-2 win over County Down.
The striker opened the scoring from distance after six minutes but the game really came to life with four goals in five minutes midway through the half.
Luke Dunn put The Bees 2-0 ahead with a fine volley before Bohui again picked his spot from long range and left Matthew Davidson with no chance to put Brentford three up inside 15 minutes.
However the Irish side hit back and Leo Brown scored twice in four minutes to send the sides in 3-2 at the break.
It was fitting that Bohui had the last word as he completed his hat-trick with a deft chip over Davidson to set up a Globe Competition Semi-Final tie with Rangers on Thursday.
Brentford signalled their intentions from kick off as Juan Pablo Gonzales Velasco shot from the centre circle was well held by Davidson.
The Down keeper then made a fantastic reflex save to turn Bohui's shot behind for a corner but there was nothing he could do on six minutes as Bohui fired into the top corner from 20 yards.
Ellery Balcombe then nearly gifted Down an equaliser but he recovered to catch Jack Chambers lofted shot before it crossed the line.
Brown headed over for Down and Ross McMahon headed over for The Bees before Brentford took control with two goals in two minutes.
First Dunn volleyed home from 15 yards before Bohui matched his first effort with another spectacular strike from outside the box.
At 3-0 ahead inside a quarter of an hour the floodgates could have opened but Down struck back immediately.
Brown's first goal was a well taken shot from the edge of the box after Nikola Tavares had given away possession cheaply and his second, a minute later, was almost a carbon copy after Bradley Kauzeni had lost the ball.
Those quickfire strikes put The Bees under pressure and also woke the large, partisan crowd in the centre of Coleraine.
Brentford, to their credit, kept creating chances and McMahon shot wide, Bohui had a shot deflected behind and from the following corner Kauzeni headed straight at Davidson.
Brown headed over and Tavares shot straight at Davidson before the referee called time on a breathless first-half.
There was no way that the second period could like up to the breathless nature of the first and so it proved as the opening stages were a much more cagey affair.
The only chances of note fell to the Irish side but on both occasions they failed to trouble Balcombe in Brentford's goal.
Bohui hadn't see much of the ball in the opening stages of the second-half but one chance was all he needed to complete his hat-trick as he capped off a good spell of Brentford possession by looping a shot over Davidson from close range.
That goal knocked the spirit out of the home side and Bohui could have grabbed a fourth moments later but Davidson was equal to his effort from the edge of the box.
The final minutes of the game petered out and the three points ensured that Brentford set up a Semi-Final showdown with Rangers in the Globe Competition on Thursday afternoon.
