Jan made his 11th appearance for Town on Tuesday, playing the first 67 minutes of the match as they beat Blackpool 1-0 at home- their first home victory in the league this league campaign.
Dan Udoh got the all-important goal on 38 minutes and the confident side will now take on Crewe Alexandra on Saturday, once again on home soil.
Elsewhere in Sky Bet League One, Luka Racic missed Northampton Town’s important victory over Gillingham where they picked up a 3-1 win at the PTS Academy Stadium. The goals came from Sam Hoskins, Danny Rose and Alan Sheehan for Keith Curle’ side who now sit 19th in the league table. They face another tough opponent on Saturday when they welcome Sunderland to Northamptonshire.
In the same division, AFC Wimbledon were without a match in midweek, but Jaakko Oksanen will be hoping to get more minutes under his belt after making his return from injury for The Dons on Boxing Day away at Oxford United. They will welcome top of the table Lincoln City on Saturday.
In League Two, Arthur Read was involved for the full 90 minutes in midweek for Stevenage as they picked up an important win over Cambridge United at The Lamex Stadium on Tuesday. Charlie Carter got the only goal of the game for the hosts and it leaves them 23rd in the table, though they do have two games in hand on Grimsby Town, who sit three points above them in the safety zone. Stevenage will welcome Scunthorpe United on Saturday.
Finally, in England, Saïd Benrahma played the final 30 minutes for West Ham United in midweek when they picked up a credible point on the road against a Southampton side who have been having an impressive campaign in the Premier League. The match ended goalless leaving The Hammers in 10th place and they will now prepare to travel to Everton on New Year’s Day.
