B Team defender Mepham played the full 90 minutes as Rob Page's side won 3-0 in Biel to get their UEFA Under-21 European Championships Qualifying campaign off to a perfect start. The 19-year-old saw Tyler Roberts, David Brooks, and George Thomas get the goals which earned Wales the points on the road. It was Chris' first cap at Under-21 level and he will be looking to add a second as Wales head to Portugal on Tuesday for their second qualifier.

Ellery Balcombe kept a first-half clean sheet as England's Under-19s began their reign as European Champions with a 7-1 win against Poland at St George's Park. The Bees keeper watched on as Paul Simpson's side netted all seven before the break: Sheffield Wednesday’s George Hirst and Arsenal’s Edward Nketiah both netting hat-tricks, with Sunderland’s Elliot Embleton completing the scoring. Ellery was substituted at the break and Poland pulled a goal back in the 56th minute through Radoslaw Kanach. Next up for The Young Lions is a game on Tuesday against Germany at Mansfield Town, kick-off 7.45pm. Tickets for that game will be on sale, £3 for adults and £1.50 for concessions, up to kick-off on Tuesday.

There was, however, a second defeat of the week for Marcus Forss as Belgium's Under-19s beat their Finnish counterparts 2-0 in Seinäjoki. Having started Wednesday's defeat to Portugal, Marcus was on the bench as Andreas Burssens gave Belgium a first-half lead. The B Team top-scorer was introduced on the hour but Mike Trésor Ndayishimiye wrapped up the game for the visitors in injury-time. Finland complete their Four Nations campaign on Monday with a game against Holland in Vassa.
