Brentford B won 7-1 against China League One (second tier) side Hangzhou Greentown FC. Kevin O'Connor's team dominated from start to finish, despite allowing a late goal to blot their clean sheet. Six different players got on the scoresheet, with the goals coming from Reece Cole, Kyjuon Marsh-Brown, Herson Alves, Jan Holldack (2) and two trialists.

The Bees were ahead in just three minutes and 24 seconds. Alves got down the right to then cut the ball back for Cole to knock home from close range in the centre. Hangzhou, who were relegated from the Chinese Super League in October, looked sharp despite going behind in the early stages. Although for as much good possession they held on to, they couldn't seem to get behind Brentford's back four to trouble Dimi Kyriatzis.

Holldack thought he had scored after 25 minutes, but the assistant referee raised his flag for offside. Marsh-Brown had made a run across the goalkeeper, which was deemed as obstructive.

Alves then had a chance himself to double the score, Cole picking him out this time, but drilled the ball narrowly wide of the left post.

Greentown had their first real chance with 32 minutes gone. Jarvis Edobor attempted to head a corner away but it dropped into the box. The centre-back reacted quickly to block the follow-up and deflected the ball away.

A few minutes later, Brentford finally found another breakthrough. Zain Westbrooke broke clear, evaded the onrushing 'keeper and sent a cross into the middle. There, Alves got up highest to nod the ball home almost on the goal line.

Just before half time, Marsh-Brown saw a long range effort tipped over the bar. Ony three minutes into the second period, the winger had found the net thanks to some high pressing. After intercepting a short pass between the centre-backs, he slotted the ball under the goalkeeper.

Kryiatzis was in action shortly afterwards, making two good saves to deny Hangzhou a way back into the fixture. First, he did brilliantly to spread himself and block a one-on-one with his left arm. Then the Greek was forced to spring to his left a few minutes later to palm a curling shot wide of the post.

With an hour gone, Holldack scored. A long through ball from the middle of the park found the German in space. He took a touch to move the ball across his body then unleashed a shot which clipped the crossbar on its way into the net.

The fifth goal followed shortly after, with Greentown struggling to reorganise themselves under such heavy pressure. A long spell of passing play ended with Lukas Talbro hitting a deep cross into the box from the right, which evaded Holldack but was met by a trialist at the far post to sweep home. Barely two minutes went by before The Bees had six. Another through ball found Holldack on the run. He took it in his stride, then clipped his shot over the goalkeeper and into the top corner.

Brentford's final goal of the afternoon came with quarter of an hour to go. A substitute trialist was played in down the left, beat his marker and then the Hangzhou fullback, before cutting inside and finshing into the bottom corner.

The Greentown Head Coach found a way to stop the rot by pulling a forward back into a more central role in the middle. This meant the game settled down and Brentford sat back slightly, still looking for ways to find more goals.

The visitors did find a way to score in the final minutes of the game. A few dodged challenges and some lucky deflections allowed the ball to break clear on the right side of the penalty area. A Hangzhou forward managed to get there just before Kryiatzis could pounce and he knocked it into the net. 7-1.
