THE OPPOSITION
Darren Moore has The Hawthorns' faithful smiling again as his brand of attacking football has seen West Bromwich Albion score more goals than anyone other than Manchester City in England's top four tiers this term.
Following their disastrous campaign last term, which ended in relegation from the Premier League, an instant return to the top tier looks a possibility as The Baggies go into tonight's game in fourth. Moore's side have taken 19 points from a possible 27 so far on home soil, averaging a shade under three goals a game during that run.
The Baggies did have a wobble in October, winning just one of their six matches, but head into tonight's game on a three-match winning run. Key to their attacking threat this season have been a pair of summer loan acquisitions in Leicester City's Harvey Barnes and Newcastle United's Dwight Gayle, who between them have 16 league goals this term.
Monday's have been kind to The Bees in recent years, as we go into tonight's game unbeaten in nine games played on a Monday (three wins, six draws), while Neal Maupay has contributed eight goals (six goals, two assists) in eight away games this term.
TEAM NEWS
Thomas Frank is hopeful of having a number of players back and available to him tonight. Said Benrahma, Ollie Watkins, and Kamohelo Mokotjo have all been missing since the international break but are in the frame to return tonight. The Bees' Head Coach also feels Josh Dasilva and Emiliano Marcondes are not far away from being in contention to start.
For The Baggies, Kyle Bartley is out injured but Bakary Sako and Dwight Gayle have recovered enough for a likely spot on the bench.
THE MANAGER
Darren Moore quit the professional game six years ago, hanging up his boots with Burton Albion before beginning a coaching career with West Brom. Making his way through the ranks with The Baggies, he eventually stepped into the interim manager's role in April last season.
The squad went unbeaten for the rest of the month, with Moore praised for his ability to motivate the squad where previous boss Alan Pardew couldn't. Named the Premier League Manager of the Month, the side were then relegated as he failed to pull off an absolute miracle. On 18 May, Albion made him permanent Head Coach.
LAST-TIME AROUND
In the build-up to our first game against West Bromwich Albion in 15 years, head back to August 1998 as three second-half goals secured passage past The Baggies in the League Cup First Round.
