The Season So Far

Brentford face Leeds United at Elland Road tomorrow, who remain unbeaten in their Sky Bet Championship campaign so far. However, the Yorkshire club have only a single victory to their name, with four draws.

They opened their season with a 1-1 draw at Burnley, and drew the next three league matches. They won their last match - 2-1 at Derby County - before the international break.

Leeds United manager Uwe Rösler has made seven permanent signings since his arrival in May, in addition to former Brentford loanee Tom Adeyemi joining on loan from Cardiff City. Former Brentford winger Stuart Dallas, who left Griffin Park last month, reunited with Rösler in a three-year deal. He returned this week from international duty for Northern Ireland, who remain close to qualification for the Euro 2016 tournament.

Also arriving at Elland Road this summer were: Ross Turnbull [Barnsley]; Chris Wood [Leicester City]; Sol Bamba [Palermo]; Lee Erwin [Motherwell]; Jordan Botaka [Excelsior], plus youngster Charlie Horton from Cardiff City.

Several players left Leeds in the summer, with only Billy Sharp’s departure to Sheffield United [£500,000] that raised a transfer fee.

The Gaffer

Former Brentford manager Uwe Rösler was announced as Leeds United boss on 20 May on a two year contract. It marked a return to football six months after his departure at Wigan Athletic in December 2014. In his first season with The Latics he took them to the Play-Off Semi-Finals and the FA Cup Semi-Final held at Wembley.

He had left Brentford in December 2013 to join Wigan, having spent two and a half years at Griffin Park.
