Match Details
Hull City vs Brentford Sky Bet Championship KC Stadium Tuesday 26th April
The Season So Far
Hull City saw their dreams of an automatic return to the Premier League end on Saturday as they drew 2-2 at home to Leeds United but a spot in the end of season Play-Offs has been confirmed for Steve Bruce’s side as they look to make their stay in the Sky Bet Championship a brief one.
After relegation from the Premier League last campaign Hull have been there or there about at the top of the table for much of this season. A run of one win in seven back in February and March put pay to their hopes of a top two finish but they are gearing up now for a tilt at the Play-Offs having reached the Capital One Cup Quarter-Finals and the Fifth Round of the Emirates FA Cup.
Former Bees Moses Odubajo and Chuba Akpom, on loan from Arsenal, both started for The Tigers on Saturday and could be involved tonight.
After a busy summer of transfer activity on Humberside, Steve Bruce added Dusan Kuciak [Legia Warsaw] on a permanent deal and Nick Powell [Manchester United] on loan in January. Conor Townsend [Scunthorpe United], Matt Dixon [York City], and Steve Harper [Sunderland] all departed on free transfers in January with Calaum Jahraldo-Martin [Leyton Orient], Cameron Stewart [Doncaster Rovers], and Greg Luer [Stevenage] leaving on loan.
The Gaffer
Steve Bruce is the second longest serving manager in the Championship, having been in charge of the Tigers since June 2012. After a two-year stay in the top flight, the former Manchester United captain’s side were relegated last season.
After a highly successful playing career, winning four league titles as well as both domestic and European cup trophies, he stepped straight into management in 1998. His previous positions include spells at Birmingham City, Wigan Athletic and Sunderland.
