The young Bees, who will be looking to make it three consecutive wins following victories over Watford and Arsenal’s youth sides in recent weeks, will travel to south east London looking to continue their good run.
Charlton U23s play in the Professional Development League and are fourth in the table. The side are on the back of two consecutive wins themselves with a 3-0 win away from home at Swansea City. They followed that up by netting three times once again at home to Bristol City as they claimed a 3-1 win.
The match with Bristol saw Charlton go ahead through Brendan Wiredu before Aaron Henry and Hady Ghandour followed up with finishes of their own. In charge of the Under-23 side is former Charlton player, Jason Euell, who had two spells at The Valley as a player. He began his career with Wimbledon before going on to also play for the likes of Middlesbrough, Southampton, Blackpool and Doncaster Rovers. Capped at international level for Jamaica, the coach has also been involved within the England youth setup over the past year.
With another tough encounter coming up for the young Bees, Brentford B Head Coach Neil MacFarlane believes his side are in a good place. He explained: “We’ve got really good momentum at the moment. Performance levels have been really high, and results have been good as well which is really pleasing.
“In this particular period with the number of games both at B Team and First Team level, it’s important that all of the players are primed and ready to help us."
