MATCH FACTS

HEAD TO HEAD

THE OPPOSITION

Draws have been Cardiff City's achilles heel this year with the Bluebirds spending most of the season in mid-table limbo, unable to string together a consistent run of form.

Only West Bromwich Albion, Leeds United, and Nottingham Forest have lost fewer games than Cardiff this term (9) but, along with Millwall, their 14 draws is the most in the league.

After relegation last season, Neil Warnock won just five of his first 17 games in all competitions this campaign, leading to his departure in mid-November. Neil Harris was appointed five days later and went on to lose just one of his first nine in charge, a 2-1 reverse at Griffin Park, lifting The Bluebirds up to tenth. However, a 6-1 defeat to Queens Park Rangers on New Year's Day began a run which has seen City win just three of their last ten league matches to lose ground in the Play-Off race.

That has not been helped by a knee-injury to top scorer Lee Tomlin which has ruled him out for most of the rest of the season. Behind Tomlin (7), Danny Ward and Joe Ralls are Cardiff's next top scorers in the league with five each.

THE MANAGER

Neil Harris won many admirers for the job he did on a limited budget at Millwall, establishing The Lions back in the second-tier following promotion in 2017. However, after four-and-a-half years in charge, Harris felt he had reached the end of his shelf-life at The Den, resigning in early October. Six weeks later he took over at The Cardiff City Stadium, losing just four of his 23 games in charge so far.

As a player, the wiley striker spent ten years with Millwall over two spells. He scored 138 goals in all competitions, beating the previous club-record held by Teddy Sheringham. Harris also battled and beat testicular cancer during a playing career that took him to Cardiff City, Nottingham Forest and Gillingham but was mostly spent at Millwall.

TEAM NEWS

Julian Jeanvier, Mathias Jensen, and Pontus Jansson all missed Tuesday's defeat at Luton Town, joining long-term absentees Sergi Canos, Nikos Karelis, Kamohelo Mokotjo, Marcus Forss, and Ellery Balcombe in the treatment room.

As mentionned, Cardiff will be without Lee Tomlin (knee) while Nathaniel Mendez-Laing and Isaac Vassell will also miss out through injury, with Matthew Connelly a doubt due to illness. Joe Ralls, Danny Ward, and Leandro Bacuna all came off the bench on Tuesday night and are pressing for starts.
