MATCH FACTS

THE OPPOSITION

Luton Town arrive in West London on the back of Tuesday's morale boosting 2-1 victory over Charlton Athletic which ended a run of five straight Sky Bet Championship reverses.

Back in the second-tier for the first time since 2007, Luton were slow to get going this term. Graeme Jones' men took just a single point from their opening four games but started to find some form around the first two international breaks. Four wins in eight meant that The Hatters sat 16th after 12 games, then five points clear of the drop zone.

However, the five-game losing streak that followed dropped them into the relegation places. Luck certainly wasn't on their side with Birmingham City scoring a contentious late winner while last Saturday's game against Leeds United was decided by a 90th-minute Hatters own-goal.

Goals haven't been a problem for Luton this term. Their tally of 25 is more than Leeds United, Nottingham Forest, and Swansea City, who all occupy top-six spots. However, the 33 they have conceded, 13 of which have come in their last six matches, is topped by just Barnsley and Queens Park Rangers.

THE MANAGER

Former Belgium Assistant Coach Graeme Jones has been the man entrusted with Luton's first season back in the second tier.

Jones' playing career began in the non-league before getting his break in the Football Leauge with Doncaster Rovers in 1993. After 30 goals in three seasons at Belle Vue, Jones headed west to Wigan Athletic where he enjoyed a record-breaking first season. He netted 31 league goals, which remains a Latics' club-record to this day, as Wigan were promoted from the Fourth Tier. Jones spent two more years in Lancashire before moving on. The final seven years of his career took in six clubs with limited success ahead of retirement in 2006.

Until his appointment by The Hatters last month, Jones had held a number of high-profile assistants' jobs to Roberto Martinez with Swansea City, Wigan, Everton, and, most-recently the Belgium national side. Last August, it was announced that Jones would join newly-relegated West Bromwich Albion as assistant to Darren Moore, which resulted in him leaving his position with Belgium, after a two-year spell. It was also the first time that Jones had not coached alongside Martínez since the beginning of his coaching career in 2007

TEAM NEWS

It's as you were for The Bees. Julian Jeanvier serves the third and final game of his suspension while Sergi Canos, Nikos Karelis, Joel Valencia, and Josh Clarke all remain out injured.

Luton will likely name an unchanged starting line-up after recording a much-needed victory on Tuesday night against Charlton, striker Danny Hylton being the Hatters only long-term injury absentee.
