The Opposition

Karlsruher SC, as they are known, play in the third tier of German football. They have historically been a second-tier side but were one of the founding members of the Bundesliga in 1963 and were in the top flight as recently as 2009. They were relegated to the third tier at the end of the 2016/17 season and looked set to bounce back immediately but lost out in the promotion play-offs and start a second straight season in The 3. Liga in the autumn.

KSC's squad is not widely known outside of Germany, boasting a number of home grown and domestic players. Former players include Michael Tarnat, Oliver Kahn, Thorsten Fink, and Mehmet Scholl

Match Details

The ground is around a mile walk from the centre of Grassau where the majority of shops, bars, and restaurants are located. Depending on the direction you are coming from, turn right/left onto Aichstrasse from Bahnhofstrasse and the ground will be around a kilometre down the road on your left. Entry to the ground, is via a turn just after the Indoor Sports centre.

At the ground, the ASV clubhouse, which is in view of the pitch, will be open from 12 noon on Saturday serving traditional Bavarian food and drink
