Brentford B begin their Premier League Cup campaign on Tuesday evening in a 7:00pm kick-off against Blackburn Rovers Under-21s. The match will take place at the Lancashire FA’s Leyland County Ground and entry is free of charge.

The young Bees go into the game following two wins on the bounce over Millwall Under-21s and Bournemouth Under-21s where they kept clean sheets in both of those fixtures.

This will be the first time that the Bees have entered this competition which is designed for sides in the Under-21 age group. The tournament runs over the course of the season with 32 teams placed into groups of four before the competition progresses onto knockout stages.

The side are in Group D in this competition, alongside Aston Villa, Blackburn Rovers and Peterborough United. Sides will play each side home and away in the coming months as they attempt to progress to the knockout stages.

The opposition

Blackburn’s Under-21s had their Premier League 2 fixture against Crystal Palace on Saturday postponed following the sad news of the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Recent fixtures have seen the side face the likes of Liverpool and Leicester City's Under-21s where they fell to defeat in both matches. Last time out they faced Arsenal Under-21s away from home where they were beaten 4-1.
