Emiliano Marcondes Camargo Hansen has completed his move to Brentford from FC Nordsjælland, subject to international clearance. It was announced in July that the Danish youth international attacker, better known as Emiliano Marcondes, had signed a pre-contract agreement and would be heading to West London. His contract with Danish Superliga side Nordsjælland expired yesterday and his new Brentford deal came in to force today, Monday 1 January 2018.
Brentford have applied for international clearance and Emiliano will be able to play for The Bees once that has been received. He has signed a three-and-a-half-year contract and will remain with Brentford until the end of the 2020/21 season. Emiliano leaves Danish football as the top scorer in the 2017/18 Superliga and with Nordsjælland third in the table.
Emiliano began his career with hometown club Hvidovre IF before joining Nordsjælland as a 15-year-old in 2010 and progressing through to their first-team. He made his professional debut in a Danish Cup match two years later with his Superliga debut following in April 2013. The following season he played in both of Nordsjælland’s UEFA Champions League Qualifiers against Football Club Zenit before going on to make 15 appearances. His first professional goal coming in a 3-1 win over Viborg FF on the penultimate weekend of the season.
He made his breakthrough at Nordsjælland during the 2014/15 season, playing 24 games and scoring five goals in the Danish top flight. He has played regularly ever since and leaves having scored 38 goals in 120 games in all competitions, 17 of those goals have come in 19 games this season. Emiliano – who will wear the number 17 shirt at Brentford – has represented Denmark at all age levels between Under-17 and Under-21, earning 34 caps and scoring eight goals.
