The all-important goal came from Jacob Bonde in the ninth minute of the match, and it was enough to win the game with Patrik pulling off a positive display to ensure that his side kept a clean sheet. That win keeps the side top of the Danish First Division, eight points clear of Silkeborg who occupy second place.

There was also action last night for Kasımpaşa S.K., who are still without Julian Jeanvier due to his injury. The Turkish swept aside 24 Erzincanspor, though, with a 3-0 home victory in the Turkish Cup.

Looking back at other action this week, Wednesday night also saw Joel Valencia get some game time from the start for Legia Warsaw as they took on Widzew in the Polish Cup. Joel got 46 minutes under his belt from the start as they claimed a 1-0 win to progress from the Round of 32.

Halil Dervişoğlu will be looking for another start when his FC Twente side play this evening against RKC Waalwijk. Having started against PSV Eindhoven last time out and played 77 minutes, the forward will be looking to build more minutes in Holland. Twente will take on a Waalwijk side who are 15th in the league table, whilst Halil and his teammates currently sit in fifth, six points off Ajax in top spot.

On English soil there was action for the loan clubs on Tuesday evening but none of our players got on to the field in Sky Bet Leagues One and Two. Shrewsbury Town were 2-0 up against MK Dons before they were pegged back to 2-2 to leave them 23rd in the league table. Jan Žambůrek was on the bench for the side but was unused, whilst following the match Shrewsbury parted company with Sam Ricketts as manager. The side will look to get back to winning ways and progress in the Emirates FA Cup this weekend when they take on non-league side, Oxford City.

Luka Racic wasn’t involved for Northampton Town earlier in the week as they drew 1-1 with Rochdale away from home. The Cobblers are 16th in the league table but don’t have a fixture this weekend having exited the FA Cup in the First Round. Elsewhere in League One, AFC Wimbledon lost 2-1 against Gillingham with Jaakko Oksanen also missing due to injury. They were also quickly back in action to play their First Round FA Cup tie with Barrow last night, as Wimbledon progressed with a 4-2 penalty shootout win following a 0-0 draw.

In Sky Bet League Two, Arthur Read was an unused sub as Stevenage picked up a much-needed win with a 2-1 victory over Port Vale. Aramide Oteh netted the first before Danny Newton found the net and the side are now 21st in the league table. Arthur will be hoping to be involved this weekend when the side take on Hull City at The Lamex Stadium in the Second Round of the FA Cup.

In the Premier League Saïd Benrahma will be pushing for game time after being an unused sub last time out against Sheffield United. They host Aston Villa on Monday evening, and it looks set to be an entertaining encounter with Villa in 7th and The Hammers one place behind.
