Mads Bech Sørensen helped AFC Wimbledon to an important win as he made his debut on Saturday. The central defender joined the South West London side on loan for the rest of the season earlier this month and started as they beat Peterborough United 1-0 on Saturday with Joe Piggott scoring the only goal. The win took Wimbledon to 19th in Sky Bet League One, five points clear of the relegation zone.
Mads was one of two Brentford players out on loan in action this week. Canice Carroll was not involved as Carlisle United drew with Oldham Athletic at the bottom of League Two. Nor was Justin Shaibu, who is on loan at Boreham Wood. They won 2-0 at Solihull Moors in the Vanarama National League but Justin did not play.
Reece Cole was in action. He played 90 minutes for Partick Thistle as they lost to Celtic in the Scottish Cup. Celtic scored early and went 2-0 up with 12 minutes remaining. Partick pulled a goal back but could not find a leveller. None of our loan players have any games scheduled this midweek and Wimbledon also miss out at the weekend due to not being in the Emirates FA Cup. Carlisle, Partick and Boreham Wood are in action with the latter facing a top-of-the-table clash against Bromley in the National League.
