France and Iceland were seen off in their first two games meaning a point last night against Russia would have been enough to book a spot in the Last Eight. Mads Bech Sorensen started in Szombathely with Mads Roerslev named on the bench.
The game, and qualification for the Quarter-Finals, was effectively wrapped up inside the opening 11 minutes as Jacob Bruun Larsen and Anders Dreyer found the net. Carlo Holse fired home a third in the final minute to rubber stamp the win.
A last eight game against Vitaly Janelt and Germany now awaits on 31 May in Székesfehérvár.
Denmark are still to concede a goal at the tournament with Mads Bech, who is yet to taste defeat in his nine Under-21 outings, playing all but the final 12 minutes of last night's game thus far. Mads Roerslev has appeared six times for his nation, two of those outings coming this week in Hungary.
Also in Group C, Patrik Gunnarsson was named on the bench as Iceland finished their campaign with a 2-0 defeat against France.
Having lost their opening two games, Iceland needed a win to have any chance of going through to the Last Eight but were downed by first-half goals from Matteo Guendouzi and Odsonne Edouard in Győr.
Patrik played the first two Group games, taking his number of Under-21 caps to 12.
