Brentford Women’s First Team had a memorable day on Sunday as they defeated Watford Ladies Development 4-2 at the Gtech Community Stadium where they performed for the first time in front of a record crowd.
The Bees broke the attendance record for a tier six women’s game with 5,116 watching on as the team who ply their trade in the London South East Regional Women’s Football League Division One North, looked to enhance their promotion hopes by claiming three points on Sunday afternoon.

The scene was set for the Women’s First Team to show all the supporters in the crowd what they are capable of, but Watford Ladies Development were no pushover and looked to spoil the occasion as they opened the scoring on 14 minutes through Lily Hall.
As the visitors put together a move down the right, Hall struck her shot low but the ball was blocked back into her path and she finished from close range to make it 1-0.
Despite the early Watford goal the Bees were dominant for the majority of the first half and were unfortunate to go into the break a goal down.

The best chance of the half fell to top scorer Chloe Logie, the number nine who has been on fire in front of goal this season was denied by the post following her touch after a brilliant cross by Kirsty Matthews.
Like many times this season the Women’s First Team displayed their never give up attitude and just three minutes into the second half they got their deserved equaliser through an own goal.
A Jodie Reid corner kick found captain on the day, Sophie Troth whose header came off a Watford defender before finding the back of the net
With the outstanding support of the home fans behind them, the Bees went from strength to strength and took the lead on 63 minutes following a brilliant finish from Matthews who was a threat all day.
Logie eventually got her goal making it 3-1 not long later, that’s now 12 goals in 12 games for the 17-year-old who was labelled ‘unbelievable’ by Manager Karleigh Osborne.
Watford how held their own throughout and managed to get a goal back after Safiya Dean scored her penalty on 90 minutes following a foul from Brentford number one Lily Hadrava.
However, this was overlooked by a wonderful strike from substitute Eleonora Cottrell just two minutes later ensuring the Bees left the Gtech Community Stadium with all three points and climbing to the top of the league table.
Emotions were running high post-match as Osborne addressed his team in the middle of the pitch where they formed a group huddle.
Speaking on what he said to his players at full-time, Osborne explained: "I just told them how proud I was of each and every one of them.
"There was a lot of pressure on them to come here and perform today and they kept calm and used the atmosphere as a positive energy to get the win.
"The whole experience has been unforgettable."
The team huddle was followed up with lap of honour as the Gtech crowd were in full voice after an excellent performance from the Bees, wrapping up a perfect day for the Women's First Team.
