Charlie Goode impressed for Wigan Athletic on Saturday, putting in an assured performance at the heart of the Latics’ defence in a goalless draw at home to Port Vale.

Goode helped keep the Port Vale attack at bay as Wigan recorded a third home clean sheet in four matches.

Wigan, who sit 13th following their eight-point deduction at the start of the season, head to Charlton Athletic on Tuesday night before visiting in-form Lincoln City at the weekend.

Paris Maghoma played 68 minutes for Bolton on Saturday in their 2-0 victory at Bristol Rovers.

The Trotters’ victory was secured thanks to goals from two Aarons, Collins and Morley, at either end of the second half.

Neither Matt Cox or Tristan Crama saw action for the Gas in that game at the Memorial Stadium; Cox was an unused sub and Crama wasn't involved in the squad. Rovers host Reading on Tuesday night before heading to neighbours Cheltenham Town on Saturday.

Bolton’s victory leaves them a point off the automatic promotion places with four games to play. The first of those four is a trip to top-of-the-table Portsmouth on Saturday.

Victory for Pompey over Maghoma’s Bolton would ensure promotion for Myles Peart-Harris and the south coast side with three games to play.

Portsmouth took four points from their games over the past seven days, drawing 2-2 at home to second-placed Derby County on Tuesday before beating Shrewsbury Town 3-1 at Fratton Park on Saturday.

Peart-Harris wasn’t involved against the Rams before returning as an unused substitute against Shrewsbury Town.

Michael Olakigbe missed Peterborough United’s Bristol Street Motors’ Trophy success over Wycombe Wanderers due to injury. Posh beat Wycombe 2-1 at Wembley thanks to Harrison Burrows’ late double but Olakigbe watched on.

The injury is expected to keep the Bees man out for a few weeks as Posh look to hunt down the top two in the third tier. Darren Ferguson’s side are eight points off second but with two games in hand - the first of which comes at home to Port Vale on Tuesday, before Saturday’s visit to Oxford United.

Fin Stevens and Oxford United will go into that game four unbeaten following Saturday’s 4-0 victory at Burton Albion.

Stevens played the final 10 minutes at the Pirelli Stadium as the Us leapfrogged Lincoln City and back into the play-off places thanks to a second successive four-goal win.

In Sky Bet League Two, Daniel Oyegoke played 90 minutes in Bradford City’s 1-0 victory at home to Gillingham. Bradley Halliday got the only goal two minutes before the break at the University of Bradford Stadium.

The victory kept alive Bradford’s faintest of play-off hopes ahead of trips to Barrow and Salford City this week.
