Ryan Trevitt registered an assist to help Exeter City through to the second round of the Carabao Cup last Tuesday.

The 20-year-old started alongside former Bee Reece Cole in Exeter’s midfield for the visit of Crawley Town. With the game level at 1-1 heading into the final six minutes, Trevitt whipped in a pinpoint cross from the right which James Scott nodded home from close range for the winner.

Trevitt got another 90 minutes on Saturday as Exeter continued their unbeaten start to the season with a goalless draw at home to Blackpool.

The Sky Sports cameras will be at Fratton Park on Tuesday night for Exeter’s League One game against Portsmouth before the Grecians make the monster trip to Carlisle at the weekend.

Fin Stevens was also a goal provider in the Carabao Cup on a difficult night for Oxford United.

Stevens’ cross was converted by Billy Bodin on the half hour to level the scores at 1-1 at Ashton Gate against Bristol City. However, the Robins restored their lead almost instantly before going onto score three more after the break to sail through to round two.

On Saturday, Stevens was an unused substitute for Oxford’s 1-0 home win over Carlisle United which saw them register their first win of the campaign.

Trips to Derby County and Barnsley are on the agenda for the U’s this week.

Tristan Crama impressed on his debut for Bristol Rovers last Tuesday night despite defeat to Ipswich Town in the EFL Cup.

Playing in front of Matthew Cox, goals from Jack Taylor and Sone Aluko settled the tie at Portman Road.

Both retained their starting spots for Saturday’s League One game at home to Barnsley. Again, the young duo put in assured performances in a 1-1 draw as Scott Sinclair’s late goal earned a deserved point for the Gas.

Rovers’ third-tier action this week takes them to Charlton Athletic and Cambridge United.

One side who did book a spot in the second round of the Carabao Cup last week were Bolton Wanderers. Paris Maghoma played 73 minutes in Wanderers’ 1-0 win at home to Barrow.

On Saturday, Maghoma played the final 17 minutes of Bolton’s 3-0 victory at Cheltenham Town, a result which took them to the summit of the early third-tier table.

Bolton have a pair of local affairs to look forward to this week as they welcome Fleetwood Town and Wigan Athletic to the Toughsheet Community Stadium.

Daniel Oyegoke served his one-match suspension for Bradford City’s penalty shootout victory at Accrington Stanley on Tuesday night in the EFL Cup.

The defender then returned to the starting XI and played 90 minutes to help the Bantams to a 2-1 victory at home to Colchester United on Saturday.

Bradford, 11th in the early League Two table, travel to Stockport County and Morecambe this week.

Ben Winterbottom played the full game for Welling United as they were beaten 1-0 at home to Hemel Hempstead Town on Saturday.

It took a 79th-minute penalty to finally beat Winterbottom and condemn Welling to a second-straight league defeat to begin the campaign.

The Wings host Chelmsford City on Tuesday night before heading to Somerset to face Taunton Town at the weekend.
