Sergi Canos netted a fourth goal in six games for Olympiacos, ensuring they ended the regular season with a 3-1 victory over AEK Athens.

Canos started at the Opap Arena as the sides second and third in the table met.

After a goalless first half, Olympiacos netted twice in three minutes after the restart to take control of the game.

Canos then finished off a lightning counter attack midway through the half for Olympiacos’ third, making it four goals and two assists in six appearances since making his switch to Piraeus.

Steven Zuber pulled one back late on for AEK but it was only a consolation as Olympiacos picked up a fourth win in five Super League games.

Olympiacos end the regular season third in the table, five points off league leaders Panathinaikos, with the Play-Off round for the Super League title and Champions League places starting later this month.

In Holland, Mads Bech remains sidelined with an arm injury. In his absence, FC Groningen were beaten 1-0 by AZ Alkmaar in the Eredivisie on Saturday.

Next Sunday, Groningen host Heerenveen in the Derby of the North, looking to close their four-point gap to safety.

Halil Dervisoglu played the final five minutes on Saturday as Burnley beat 10-man Wigan Athletic 3-0.

Promotion to the Premier League looks a foregone conclusion now for Vincent Kompany’s Clarets, who lead the division by 17 points with just 10 games to play.

A Nathan Tella double, either side of Omar Rekik’s red card, set them on their way, with Lyle Taylor adding a late third.

Burnley travel to Hull City on Wednesday, before an Emirates FA Cup quarter-final clash with Kompany’s former side Manchester City on Saturday evening.

At the other end of the second-tier table, Tariqe Fosu played the full 90 minutes of Rotherham United’s 2-0 defeat to Birmingham City.

First-half goals from Reda Khadra and Kevin Long handed the Millers a first defeat in four games.

Eight points above the drop zone, Rotherham host Preston North End on Tuesday night, before welcoming Cardiff City at the weekend.

In Charlie Goode’s continued absence through injury, goals from Andreas Wiemann and Alex Scott saw Blackpool beaten 2-0 at Bristol City on Saturday.

Six points from safety, the Seasiders host QPR and Coventry City this week at Bloomfield Road.

Myles Peart-Harris played 90 minutes, while Ellery Balcombe was an unused substitute during Bristol Rovers’ 3-1 win over Forest Green Rovers on Saturday.

Charlie Savage gave Forest Green an early lead, but John Marquis and Scott Sinclair’s strikes had the Gas ahead before break. Marquis added a third on the hour to leave Forest Green 12 points from safety with Bristol Rovers safely in mid-table.

Forest Green head to second-placed Plymouth Argyle on Saturday, with Bristol Rovers hosting Play-Off chasing Wycombe Wanderers and Peterborough United this week.

Paris Maghoma played the full 90 minutes as MK Dons picked up a crucial three points in their battle against relegation. A single Mo Eisa goal, 10 minutes before half-time, gave MK the victory over fellow strugglers Cambridge United.

That win cut their gap to safety down to two points ahead of a trip to Accrington Stanley this weekend.

And it is Aaron Pressley and Accrington who currently sit the right side of the relegation line.

Pressley started both their games this week which ended in a 3-0 defeat to Ipswich Town in midweek and a 1-1 draw at Charlton Athletic on Saturday.

Accrington remain two points above the drop zone with two games in hand. They play one of those on Tuesday night at home to Portsmouth, before their weekend visit from Paris and MK.

Crewe travel to Stevenage tomorrow before heading to Northampton Town at the weekend.
