Brentford loanee Jayden Meghoma scored a sensational first goal in professional football in early December as Rangers drew 2-2 with Dundee United in the Scottish Premiership.

The young full-back picked up the ball following a corner and drilled an unstoppable strike into the back of the net from 30 yards.

“Anything that can help the team is the most important thing. In my position, I think I can help with goals and assists,” said the England Under-20 afterwards.

And Meghoma kept true to his word by providing his second assist of the league campaign three days later, as the Gers won 3-0 at Kilmarnock.

He started again in a 1-0 victory against Hibernian before an 11-game unbeaten run was ended by league leaders Hearts prior to Christmas.

Danny Röhl’s side bounced back by defeating Motherwell 1-0 at Ibrox, leapfrogging their visitors into third spot in the process.

Elsewhere in the division, Tony Yogane started as Dundee arrested a four-match winless run with a 1-0 success against Falkirk.

The Brentford winger, who has started every game this month, contributed his second assist of the campaign in a 2-2 draw at Livingston on 13 December.

In League One, Ethan Brierley has continued to be a regular for Exeter City, who climbed out of the relegation zone – above rivals Plymouth Argyle on goal difference – with a 1-0 win at AFC Wimbledon on Monday night.

Brierley, 22, has started all bar one league game for the Grecians, with the most recent of his three assists coming in a 3-0 victory against Barnsley five days before Christmas.

Bromley’s remarkable season so far has continued with five wins from a possible five in December, with Ben Krauhaus starting each of those fixtures.

The Ravens sit top of League Two and are the only side in the fourth tier to remain unbeaten at home.

Ryan Trevitt, Ji-soo Kim and Benjamin Fredrick have all been absent through injury for their respective loan sides.

Trevitt provided two assists in nine appearances for League One outfit Wigan Athletic before being sidelined in October, while Ji-soo played 11 times across all competitions for 2. Bundesliga outfit Kaiserslautern before his own setback in November.

Brentford B defender Fredrick, who joined Belgian Pro League side FCV Dender on a season-long loan in the summer, picked up a knee injury in November, which also saw him miss out on joining fellow Bee Frank Onyeka and the Nigeria squad at the Africa Cup of Nations.

Chanse Headman is enjoying a successful month-long loan stint with Maidenhead United.

The young defender featured as a late substitute for the National League South side in a 2-0 home win against Hornchurch and marked his full debut the following weekend with the opening goal in a 3-1 victory at Hampton & Richmond Borough.

He made two further appearances after Christmas – in a goalless draw with Hemel and 3-1 defeat against Slough.
