The battle at the bottom of Sky Bet League One went the way of Paris Maghoma and MK Dons as they beat Aaron Pressley’s Accrington Stanley 1-0 at the Wham Stadium to climb out of the relegation zone at Stanley’s expense.
Both young Bees played 90 minutes with the game settled by an eighth-minute goal from former Brentford loanee Sullay Kaikai.
The defeat completed a frustrating week for Pressley who also played an hour in midweek as Stanley were beaten 3-1 at home by Portsmouth.
Accrington have an instant chance to get back out of the bottom four when they host second-placed Plymouth Argyle tomorrow night. They then make the long trip to Exeter City on Saturday.
MK Dons will be looking to make it three wins on the bounce when they welcome fellow strugglers Morecambe to Stadium MK this weekend.

Halil Dervisoglu was twice an unused substitute for Burnley this week. The 23-year-old striker was on the bench for their 3-1 win away at Hull City on Wednesday, a result which means the Clarets now need a maximum of nine points, from as many games, to secure promotion back to the Premier League.
Dervisoglu was then also in the squad on Saturday evening that was beaten 6-0 by Manchester City in the Emirates FA Cup quarter-final.
Tariqe Fosu played the full 90 minutes for Rotherham United in midweek as they were beaten 2-1 at home by Preston North End.
Thomas Cannon and Ched Evans netted first-half goals for Preston, either side of Hakeem Oddofin’s effort for the Millers.
Then, on Saturday, Rotherham’s game against Cardiff City was suspended after 47 minutes due to a waterlogged pitch.
Cardiff led 1-0 at the time before a downpour made the pitch at the New York Stadium unplayable.
Charlie Goode remains sidelined for Blackpool. In his absence, Mick McCarthy’s side thumped Queens Park Rangers 6-1 at home on Tuesday before losing 4-1 at Bloomfield Road against Coventry City on Saturday.
