Myles Peart-Harris and Portsmouth continue to set the pace in Sky Bet League One following their 1-0 victory over Carlisle United on Saturday.

A hard-fought game was settled by Paddy Lane’s 62nd-minute strike at Brunton Park, a result which moved Pompey six-points clear at the top.

Peart-Harris played 57 minutes with home games against Cambridge United and Reading on the horizon this week.

That was about as good as it got for Brentford’s other promotion-chasing loan players in the third tier.

Paris Maghoma was an unused substitute as Bolton Wanderers played more than an hour with 10 players during their 1-1 draw away at Northampton Town.

The Trotters' afternoon started badly; they found themselves a goal down after two minutes and a man down after 27 minutes, George Thomason the man dismissed.

However, Carlos Mendes Gomes salvaged what could prove to be a vital point with 16 minutes remaining.

Bolton, who sit a point off the automatic promotion places with two games in hand, are at home to Wycombe Wanderers on Tuesday night before hosting Charlton Athletic on Saturday.

Michael Olakigbe was sent off for Peterborough United on Tuesday night in their 2-1 defeat to Exeter City.

The winger picked up a booking either side of half-time to be dismissed with 35 minutes remaining.

Posh led 1-0 at the time but former Bee Reece Cole levelled with 15 minutes remaining before Jadel Katongo turned into his own net five minutes later.

Then on Saturday, with Olakigbe serving his one-match suspension, Peterborough were beaten 5-2 at Wycombe Wanderers.

Olakigbewill return this week for fifth-placed Peterborough who have games at home to Port Vale and Blackpool.

Another side to suffer back-to-back defeats last week were Bristol Rovers.

Tristan Crama played 90 minutes on Tuesday in their 2-0 reverse at home to Fleetwood Town before a late substitute appearance on Saturday in their 2-1 defeat to Burton Albion.

Matt Cox wasn’t in the squad for their defeat to the Cod Army but did return to the squad at the weekend.

12th in the table, the Gas travel to Stevenage and Northampton Town this week.

Charlie Goode played the full game for Wigan Athletic on Saturday as they were beaten 2-1 at home by Exeter City.

Mo Eisa and Jack Aitchison netted either side of the break to put the visitors in control. Charlie Kelman’s strike set up a grandstand final 20 minutes, but the away side held out for the points.

Six points above the drop zone in 14th, Wigan head to Oxford United and Shrewsbury Town over the next five days.

That Oxford side will likely remain without the injured Fin Stevens.

In Stevens’ absence, the U’s took a creditable point away at Blackpool; Matthew Pennington and Mark Harris trading early goals at Bloomfield Road.

Following that clash with Wigan, seventh-placed Oxford make the short trip down the M40 to Wycombe Wanderers on Saturday.

Another player still out with injury is Daniel Oyegoke.

Without Oyegoke, Bradford City closed the gap on the play-off places in Sky Bet League Two to seven points with a 1-0 victory at Wrexham.

Bradford host MK Dons and Sutton United to Valley Parade in the fourth tier this week.
