Six young Brentford players were in loan action on Saturday.

Development Squad central defender Alfie Mawson made his debut for Maidenhead United in a 1-0 win away to Truro City.

The 18-year-old joined the Berkshire club last week until January 9 and made his debut in the Blue Square Bet South game at Truro.

He played 90 minutes for Maidenhead in the win, which leaves them 17th in the Blue Square Bet South table.

Luke Norris was also in Blue Square Bet South action on Saturday.

He made his first start for Boreham Wood in a 3-0 win at Farnborough.

The 19-year-old Development Squad striker set up the first goal for Omar Riza and could have scored himself soon after.

Greg Morgan and Ben Nunn added second half goals for Boreham Wood and the win leaves them fourth in the table, with games in hand on those above them.

Development Squad defender Sam Griffiths played 90 minutes for Carshalton Athletic on Saturday.

The 20-year-old joined the Ryman Premier League side on Friday and went straight in to the team for Saturday’s game away to Canvey Island.

But it was a bad day for Carshalton, who has two players sent off and lost 2-0.

Sam played 90 minutes in the centre of defence while Brentford scholar Josh Clarke played 90 minutes on the right of midfield.

Clarke was involved in Carshalton’s attacking play but could not prevent them slipping to defeat.

Carshalton are bottom of the Ryman Premier League.

Josh, 18, is in the second year of a two-year scholarship but qualifies for the Club’s Under-21 side due to his age and is at Carshalton on a work experience deal.

Tyrell Miller-Rodney and Sam Beale are with Northwood, of the Evo-Stick Southern League Central Division, on the same work experience basis and, like Josh, are second year scholars too old for the Youth Team.

Tyrell, 18, and Sam, 19, both started for Northwood against Godalming Town on Saturday.

Northwood took the lead in the first half but missed a penalty as Godalming turned it around, albeit they also missed a spot kick.

Tyrell seemed to have headed an equaliser in the dying seconds but it was ruled out amid appeals for handball.

Northwood are now 14th in the Evo-Stick Southern League Central Division.
