In Germany, Arminia Bielefeld missed the chance to go fourth after they were beaten 4-2 by top-of-the-table Fortuna Dusseldorf on Friday night. It started well for DSC, for whom Konstantin Kerschbaumer played the full 90 minutes, with Julian Borner netting a 25th minute opener. Rouwen Hennings and Tom Schutz exchanged goals either side of the interval as Bielefeld led going into the final 35 minutes. However, Marcel Sobottka, Adam Bodzek, and Benito Raman netted in a 14-minute spell to ensure the points stayed in the North-East, despite Konstantin hitting the post late on. Defeat leaves DSC in fifth, sixth points off third with seven games to play after the international break.

Ilias Chatzitheodoridis played the full 90 minutes as Cheltenham Town picked up another point in Sky Bet League Two after a 1-1 draw at home to relegation threatened Chesterfield. It was the visitors who took the lead with just over a quarter of an hour to play through Kristian Dennis but substitute Brian Graham equalised for the hosts five minutes later. Ilias could have won it late on but he shot over from the edge of the box as the points were shared at the LCI Rail Stadium. The 20-year-old was making his tenth appearance since joining The Robins as Gary Johnson’s side continue to sit comfortably in mid-table.

Also in League Two, Jack Bonham was beaten twice late on as Carlisle United let a two-goal lead slip to draw at home to Crawley Town on Saturday. The home side looked to be on course for another three points in the Play-Off race thanks to goals from Richie Bennett and Hallam Hope either side of the break. However, The Red Devils hit back and levelled through Karlan Ahearne-Grant’s late double. The point leaves The Cumbrians in tenth, four points outside the Play-Off places.
