Manny Onariase and Cheltenham Town breezed into the Third Round of the Checkatrade Trophy after a 6-1 win over Leicester City Under-23s at the LCI Rail Stadium last night. The Robins took a ninth minute lead through Diego De Girolamo but were instantly pegged back by last year's league winners: Bartosz Kapustka on target for The Foxes. After that it was plain sailing for Gary Johnson's side with former Bee Daniel O'Shaughnessy netting a second and De Girolamo making it 3-1 before the break. Harry Pell and Amari Morgan-Smith were on target in the second-half before De Girolamo completed his hat-trick in the dying minutes.
Manny played the full 90 minutes in last night's win as The Robins set up a Third Round tie at home to Bradford City later this month. Cheltenham return to league action on Saturday hoping to improve on a run of six defeats in seven when Accrington Stanley head to Gloucestershire.
