Nick Proschwitz got his loan spell at Coventry City underway in the best possible fashion as he helped them to a 2-1 win over Will Grigg's MK Dons.

Both Brentford forwards were introduced from the bench as Coventry City secured a vital three points at the Ricoh Arena.

All the goalscoring action occured before Will and Nick were brought on around the hour with Chris Stokes and Dominic Samuel putting the hosts 2-0 ahead within 12 minutes.

Daniel Powell pulled one back for The Dons with just over 30 minutes remaining but it wasn't enough as they slipped to defeat which leaves them eight points off top spot.

The win moved Coventry out of the relegation zone, a point above Leyton Orient, with 14 games left to play.

Also in Sky Bet League One Jack O'Connell and Rochdale lost 1-0 away at league leaders Bristol City.

Aaron Wilbraham scored the only goal of the game in the 14th minute as City opened up an eight point gap over third-placed Preston North End.

Jack played the full 90 minutes for Rochdale who drop to 15th but remain only seven points off the play-off places.

Wycombe's Brentford trio of Alfie Mawson, Sam Saunders and Nico Yennaris were frustrated as The Chairboys were held 2-2 at home by Stevenage.

In Denmark Montell Moore's FC Midtjelland Under-19s lost 3-1 against Esbjerg in their final pre-season match.

Montell played 80 minutes for the Danish league leaders and grabbed the assist for Mads Thychosen's 29th minute equaliser with a fine through ball.

However Esbjerg scored twice in the second-half to consign Midtjelland to defeat ahead of their season opener with AGF on Saturday.
