Konstantin Kerschbaumer scored a 90th minute winner as DSC Arminia Bielefeld kept up the pressure at the top of the 2.Bundesliga with a 1-0 victory over 1. FC Nürnberg on Friday. DSC looked to be heading for a third game without a win until Konstantin popped up in the dying seconds to net the winner. The goal was Konstantin’s eighth of the season and sixth in his last 12 league games. The three points see DSC rise to fifth in the table, just three points behind Holsten Kiel in third, ahead of their trip to top-of-the-table Fortuna Dusseldorf on Friday.

Back in England, it was an unbeaten weekend for our two players on loan in Sky Bet League Two. Jack Bonham and Carlisle United took a point from their long trip to the south west after a 1-1 draw against Exeter City. Dean Moxey swept the home side ahead just before the break but The Cumbrians levelled 20 minutes into the second-half thanks to Ashley Nadesan’s excellent finish. The point leaves Carlisle in tenth, just two points outside the Play-Offs, with a home game against Crawley Town up next Saturday.

Meanwhile, Ilias Chatzitheodoridis played 84 minutes as Cheltenham Town put in an excellent display to beat Swindon Town 3-0 at The County Ground. Mo Eisa’s impressive debut season in the EFL continued with a brace while Jake Andrews grabbed the other as The Robins took the spoils. The win leaves Cheltenham Town in 15th with 44 points from 37 games and they will hope to add to that tally against relegation threatened Chesterfield at the LCI Rail Stadium next Saturday.

In Sky Bet League One, Justin Shaibu was a late substitute as Walsall fell to derby defeat against Shrewsbury Town on Saturday. The goals came at either end of the contest with Alex Rodman opening the scoring after six minutes before Abu Ogogo made the points safe late on. Defeat means that Walsall are still looking over their shoulders in the League One relegation scrap, having played more games than anyone below them, and with Wigan Athletic up next.
