Jack Bonham kept his fifth clean sheet in nine Sky Bet League Two games since the turn of the year as Carlisle United’s mammoth journey to Yeovil Town was rewarded with three points on Saturday. The only goal came at the start of the second-half as Hallam Hope was given time and space to find the corner from 25 yards. Both sides were subsequently denied by the woodwork as Hope’s strike proved to be decisive at Huish Park. Victory means that Keith Curle’s side are now 10th in League Two, six points outside the Play-Offs with a home game against Grimsby Town coming up next.

Also in the fourth tier, Ilias Chatzitheodoridis played 75 minutes as Cheltenham Town took a well-earned point from their trip to top-of-the-table Luton Town. It could have been even better for The Robins who led 2-0 just after half-time thanks to goals from Joe Morrell and Mo Eisa. However, Luke Berry pulled one back straight away for the home side before Alan Sheehan grabbed a cruel equaliser in injury-time. The point leaves Gary Johnson’s side in 16th, ten points above the drop zone with Notts County next up at the LCI Rail Stadium this Saturday.

In Sky Bet League One, Justin Shaibu made his sixth appearance since joining Walsall on loan as they were beaten 2-1 by league leaders Blackburn Rovers on Saturday. All the goals came in the opening period as Danny Graham struck twice early on with Jack Fitzwater pulling one back for the hosts on the stroke of half-time. Justin played 64 minutes as he still searches for his first league goal with The Saddlers. Defeat leaves Walsall 17th in the table, five points above the drop zone, ahead of tomorrow night’s trip to Peterborough United.

In Germany, Konstantin Kerschbaumer and DSC Arminia Bielefeld suffered their first defeat of 2018 as they were beaten 3-2 at home by Dynamo Dresden. Konstantin was involved in the build-up for DSC’s opener which was scored by Florian Hartherz. The hosts held that advantage until the interval but Dresden hit back after the break; Moussa Kone and Lucas Roser netting with 20 minutes of the restart. An Andreas Voglsammer levelled things up with a quarter of an hour to play but Roser had the final say, netting the winner three minutes later. Defeat sees DSC slip to eight but they are still just three points off third. Jeff Saibene’s side head to Heidenheim next Sunday looking to keep pace with the promotion places.
